approval of extension of the delivery period

good morning, everyone. may i know who approves the request of the supplier to extend the delivery period? Is it the BAC or the HOPE? are there any limitations on the request of the bidder? ( i mean, is the bidder allowed to request only once?)

It is already the HOPE or his/her duly authorized official, and no longer the BAC, who will approve requests for extensions of delivery period after the contract has already been signed.

There is no limitation on the number of requests for extension. The contract provision that would cover extension of delivery period is Item 18.2 of the GCC, to wit:

"If at any time during the performance of this Contract, the Supplier or its subcontractor(s) should encounter conditions impending timely delivery of the Goods and/or performance of Services, the Supplier shall promptly notify the Procuring Entity in writing of the fact of the delay, its likely duration and its cause(s). As soon as practicable after receipt of the Supplier's notice, and upon causes provided for under GCC Clause 22, the PE shall evaluate the situation and may extend the Supplier's time for performance, in which case the extension shall be ratified by the parties by amendments of Contract."

For those delays in the performance not covered by approved extensions, the provisions for Liquidated Damages will apply.
