Tayug ex-mayor gets 18 years for malversation

MANILA, Philippines - A former mayor of Tayug in Pangasinan was sentenced to 10 to 18 years in jail after he failed to account for the P500,000 that was advanced to him as supposed 10-year lease for a private lot occupied by the local government.

There is none in the news when did the 'crime' was committed. Is it under the GPRA (2003)? Please cite the link to the SC Decision. Smile
