Internet Connection/Smart Bro

Post by venom.0420 on Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:59 am

Guyz,

I need an advise on procuring Internet Connection. Our establishment is in a very remote place and is cut-off from any communication cables. We previously had an ISP but since they cannot meet the agreed connection speed, the contract was terminated. We were paying a staggering Php 35,000 per month for an internet connection with a connection quality far inferior than the pre-paid smart bro modem. Can we use direct contracting to procure the unlimited internet connection services of Smart Telecoms, even though we previously had another ISP? Smart Telecoms doesn't want to participate in a public bidding due to the documentation requirements. Globe and Sun Broadband are still 2G, hence, only GPRS connection is possible which ranges from 32-48 kbps, compared to Smart broadband's 3 mbps.

Thanks!

Thanks, I already considered that one. However, it suggests that Public Bidding be conducted if there are more than one ISP. The problem is the other ISP couldn't meet the required speed and Smart doesn't want to participate in the bidding. Unlimited internet connection of Smart is only Php 999.00 per month, compared to our previous ISP which is Php 35,000.00 monthly.

You can only use Direct Contracting for GOODS, hence in this case you cannot. ISP is not exclusive for SMART alone (there is GLOBE, DIGITEL, SKY, EASTERN, SUN, depende sa location).

You could the same method that applied in subscription of telephone line services. ISP in this case are just like any other utility (electricity, telephone, water, etc.). In this way, the government saves as much as 3,500% without doubt. Very Happy

We have the same experience before venon0420, our bac waited for the 2nd failed biddings then negotiate with smart authorized agents, for sure they can comply with the requirements, because those agents have sales quota to accomplish for the month. Cool. we have no other choice/remedy but to follow the guidelines. Hope this might help.
