PhilGEPS Contact person of the LGU

Good morning to all!

Who can be the official contact person of the LGU who can access PHILGeps ? Can a casual or job order employee be authorized to such tasks?

Please helpp.. thanks

Excerpt from Philgeps Frequently ask Questions
Who may register with the system?
For governmmay register with the system?
Any employee, preferably a procurement officer, a BAC member, a BAC secretariat member, resident auditor or anyone authorized by the head of the agency to register and post bid notices and awards in the system. A written authorization signed by the head of the agency shall be submitted to the PhilGEPS. Hope this might help

In addition to what sunriser have explained, the "contact person" shall also be known as "Buyer Coordinator" and shall be responsible for monitoring the procurement activities thru PhilGEPS, as well as local administration of the Buyer account of the agency. This means that the Buyer Coordinator himself can be able to create, activate and deactivate a buyer account assigned or to be assigned to an employee for posting of advertisement and award in the PhilGEPS.

With this kind of responsibility and required accountability, you will have an idea (among yourselves in the agency) who the right person should be in that position as far as the HOPE is concerned. Very Happy
