Piston not supporting RFID project of LTO

In behalf of Piston (Pagkakaisa ng Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide), George San Mateo, secretary general of the group, said that it is opposing the RFID project of LTO mainly because the project did not undergo public bidding and they "do not believe claims that the mandatory RFID tagging of all 5.5 million motor vehicles in the country will protect public transport drivers from extortion activities of unscrupulous LTO and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) fixers and traffic enforcers." Further, the project was already declared by NEDA as "illegal."
