Re-bidding of indelible inks

Post by jamsadain on Mon Apr 12, 2010 12:12 pm

COMELEC will re-bid the contract for indelible ink to be used in the May 10 polls due to the allegations of irregularity in the contract. Texas Resources Corp., the company that won the bidding, failed to meet the specifications asked by COMELEC. Thus, they will conduct a re-bidding because according to COMELEC spokesman James Jimenez, "it will be unfair if there has been a bidding and you’ll just let the bidder improve his product afterward. There should be a rebidding so more bidders can join," in accordance with Section 35 of the Republic Act 9184 which states to look for new bidders in case the first one fails.

it would be difficult to conduct a competitive bidding for the "incredible ink" right now. 30 days na lang at Election Fiesta na. i doubt if the winning bidder can produce the specification at the 11th hour.. tsk. tsk. tsk. Sad .. Negotiated Procurement na lang yan dapat. Very Happy
