Post by Wapolnic on Fri Aug 27, 2010 1:40 pm

The Office of the Ombudsman has slapped criminal complaints against former Deparment of Education (DepEd) Secretary Jesli Lapus and a number of officials from the department over the alleged multi-million peso noodles scam. The Field Investigation Office (FIO) of the anti-graft agency charged Lapus with two counts of violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, and a count each for violating the Government Procurement Reform Act and the Consumers Act of the Philippines.

Have we noticed? The greatest scams of all times need not to be highly technical and extremely complex transactions. Sometimes the most abused items are those we aways see and use most of the time. They were so basic and you wouldn't believe they can be scammed until a whistle blower came:

1. broom (walis ting-ting)
2. fertilizers
3. noodles
4. personal computers

...etc. Smile
