LGU Accreditation

Post by scimla on Mon Sep 06, 2010 9:53 am

Please be informed that some LGU's like the City of Pasig, Las Pinas, Batangas to name a few has added their own local accreditation in addition to the requirements of the 9184 Procurement Law. This added requirement is used to filter out or disqualify new bidders from their regular suppliers. They set a deadline in obtaining this added requirement & will simply inform new bidders that the issuance of local accreditation had lapsed & ask to wait for next year. Is this legal?

NO.

We have a very elaborate discussion of that question on the following links (please click):
>>> Accreditation
>>> Accreditation Committee
>>> Open Bidding or Accreditation?

I hope the above links provide enough clarification on your query.

Have a nice day! Smile

Thank you for your response. What is our alternative or your recommended course of action then if we are denied in joining future bids? Thank you.

You should write the BAC copy furnished the HOPE asking why you should not be allowed to join and let them cite what particular provision of R.A.9184 says you cannot join. If you cannot be denied, then you must be allowed.

The Office of the Ombudsman accepts complaints and it is better if you can provide sufficient evidence for the case. Smile
